BET Experience Africa 2015 Mary J. Blige, Flavour, Diamond, AKA Maxwell shut down festival

The BET Experience Africa 2015 lit up the Ticket Pro Dome in Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday, December 12, 2015.

The debut lifestyle event kicked off with several fun activities including a basketball game, sneakers expo, car drifting and musical performances. The event saw awesome performances from international acts including R&B superstar Maxwell, award winning singer Mary J Blige, Young Thug, and Raphael Saadiq. There were also performances from some of the biggest acts on the continent including Flavour Nabania, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and South Africa's AKA.

Things got hot when Flavour took off his shirt on stage. Several upcoming South African artists including Emtee, Fifi Cooper, WTF, Patty Monroe, Moonchild, Stilo Magolide also showcased their talent.

The one-day festival had comedy sessions from African comedians like Churchill, Tats Nkozo and David Kau. There was also a fashion runway show hosted by Bonang Matheba.

Prince Eke kidnapped, kidnappers threaten to bury him alive if N15m ransom is not paid

Nollywood actor and Muma Gee's husband, Prince Eke has been kidnapped and LIB spoke to Muma Gee about the incident. According to what she said, Prince Eke was kidnapped on Saturday Dec 5th possibly along the Owerri- Port Harcourt. She said he'd been shooting in Asaba and was returning to Port Harcourt when he was taken. Muma Gee said she was contacted by the kidnappers on Monday Dec. 7th and they demanded N15million ransom and threatened to bury him alive if they don't get the money by yesterday Thursday Dec. 10th. The singer said she last spoke with her husband on Wednesday Dec. 9th and hasn't heard from the kidnappers since then.

Diamond PlatnumzTanzanian singer wins 'Best Act Africa/India' at MTV EMAs

Tanzanian singer, Diamond Platnumz has won the award for the Best Act Africa/India at the MTV EMAs.

The award show held last night at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago, near Milan, Italy. The singer was pictured holding his award as he posed for a photograph.

The Tanzania star was up against Nigeria’s Davido and Yemi Alade, as well as South African rapper AKA and Ivorian performer DJ Arafat for the title of best act on the continent.

And the Tanzanian artist went one better and made the African continent proud when he was pronounced winner of Worldwide Act: Africa/India – beating Indian star Priyanka Chopra to be crowned the top artist on two continents.
